Question 1

What ESG training options does Okiru offer?

Accepted Answer

Three formats depending on your role and depth needed: an Executive Overview briefing for boards and leadership teams, a Full Workshop (ESG Foundations) covering materiality, frameworks and company-level execution, and a Expert Deep Dive (ESG Mastery) for practitioners who need certified-expert-level technical depth across every framework.

Question 2

What ESG frameworks does the training cover?

Accepted Answer

GRI, SASB, ISSB (IFRS S1/S2), TCFD and CSRD/ESRS, how they relate, overlap and differ, and materiality: financial, impact and double materiality. The Expert Deep Dive also covers jurisdictional detail, including EU, UK, US, Asia-Pacific and Latin America adoption.

Question 3

Who should attend the Executive Overview?

Accepted Answer

Board members, the C-suite and leadership teams who need to understand why ESG disclosure is shifting from voluntary to mandatory, and who need to approve a gap assessment, an executive sponsor and initial budget. It is delivered once as a single board or leadership session, not priced per person.

Question 4

What is the difference between the Full Workshop and the Expert Deep Dive?

Accepted Answer

The Full Workshop (ESG Foundations) is a practitioner-level session across four parts, roughly 3-4 hours of content, ending in a 12-month roadmap capstone exercise. The Expert Deep Dive (ESG Mastery) is certified-expert level across six parts, roughly 6 hours of content, and adds jurisdictional detail, a full worked materiality case study, GHG accounting mechanics, supply chain due diligence and a knowledge check.

Question 5

Do you cover GHG emissions and Scope 1, 2 and 3 accounting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Expert Deep Dive includes GHG accounting mechanics, a worked Scope 1 calculation example, organisational and operational boundary setting, and practical guidance on the Scope 3 data challenge, which is typically 70%+ of a company's footprint.

Question 6

Is this training relevant if we are not EU-exposed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. ISSB (IFRS S1/S2) is the emerging global baseline, adopted or being adopted in 28+ jurisdictions representing more than 50% of global GDP. CSRD is EU-specific but has extraterritorial reach: a non-EU parent company can still fall within scope if an EU subsidiary meets size thresholds.

Question 7

Can ESG training count toward our B-BBEE Skills Development scorecard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Training expenditure counts toward your Skills Development element on the B-BBEE scorecard. Our Skills Development team can manage the evidence, SETA claims and WSP/ATR submission on your behalf.

Question 8

Do you offer in-house or virtual ESG training?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All three formats are available online, in person or in-house, with team rates for the Full Workshop and Expert Deep Dive. Contact us with your team size and preferred format for a scoped proposal.
